86 TRD
The 86 TRD showcases a catalogue of parts designed by Toyota’s Motorsports Division for the Japanese Domestic Market. Although never sold officially as a complete car, it was displayed in the Toyota Mega Web as well as demo cars in various Toyota dealers across Japan.
In the UK, the 86 TRD was sold as a special edition available in black or white, featuring the TRD aero body kit, 18 inch wheels, and quad tip exhaust.
Parts from TRD were plentiful, from suspension, brakes, clutch, flywheels and body bracing, all the way to carbon fibre spoilers and bucket seats, the company really showed the tuning potential and enthusiasm for the platform. Being an OEM manufacturer, the quality and fitment are of the highest standard.
The Kouki 86 also received its own version of aero parts, as well as a few updated performance items.
Towards the end of the production of the 1st generation 86, TRD parts were being transitioned to GR parts and this marked the end of the chapter for the TRD branding on Toyota’s sports cars.
